UP Woman Head Shaved: In yet another shocking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim woman was thrashed by relatives and her head was forcefully shaved for marrying a Hindu man, the police said on June 22.
The local police registered a case against eight persons, who were involved in the alleged abduction and thrashing of the 20-year-old woman, at Fatehpur Kotwal police station, however, only three have been arrested so far.
According to a report by Indian express, the relatives of the woman physically assaulted her, forcefully shaved her head and made her walk through the streets, shaming her for marrying a man from another religion.

Station House Officer Sanjay Maurya said that the Muslim woman, who is an orphan, lived with her grandmother while the man, a 28-year-old Hindu labourer, stayed alone.
Before tying the wedding knot in a temple on June 21, they dated each other for a long time, as per reports.
After the woman's family and relatives found out about the interfaith union, they allegedly abducted her from her husband’s house while he was at work and tortured her, punishing her for the same.
Additional Superintendent of Police Avdhesh Singh informed that the woman had named her own uncle among one of the accused.

Rape Survivor Made To Walk With Rapist
In another recent incident, a rape survivor was made to walk with her attacker by her own family in a tribal village. Six people including the accused and the family members were arrested regarding the same.
The 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped on March 28 in a tribal-dominated village and made to walk around with the accused. A disturbing video of the same was circulated shortly after the incident. According to the video, the survivor was tied to the accused with a rope while people around them chanted slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”(Long Live Mother India).
