I, my family and my witnesses have been tortured by ‘criminal’ Atul Rai. For more than a month after I lodged a complaint against him, I was threatened. And when I remained firm on my complaint, false cases against my witnesses have been registered,” the girl, who studied in a Varanasi college, said in the video, NDTV reported.
“Every information regarding us is getting leaked. My phone is being tapped. When we went to the Allahabad High Court, everybody knew that we are in the city. And their people had followed us. I don’t know what is going on in this country,” she added.
“Now I have come to know from Atul Rai’s people that they are trying to reach a High Court judge and he will be released soon. They are saying ‘after he is released, your fate would be worse than the Unnao survivor’s’,” she said in the video.
The case reportedly falls under the jurisdiction of Ballia police and Additional Superintendent of Ballia Police, Sanjay Yadav says that the police have taken cognizance of the video and have started the probe.

On August 24, a Shahjahanpur law student went missing after she posted a video on social media requesting PM Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of saving her from her college director and three-time BJP MP, Chinmayanand. The girl is a student of SS Law College in Shahjahanpur and is managed by Chinmayanand’s Ashram. She was found after a week in Rajasthan and has now alleged in her police complaint that she filed in Delhi’s Lodhi Road police station that Chinmayanand raped her repeatedly over a period of one year.
The girl also alleged in her video that she could not file a complaint with authorities in Shahjahanpur because they shielded the politician. The Supreme Court took Suo Motu cognizance of the case and has appointed an SIT from the UP police to investigate the case.
