The accused has been identified as 34-year-old man named Rakesh who used to work as a pathologist in 2018 with a private laboratory in Greater Noida. The man had allegedly murdered his wife and children over an affair with a woman who is part of the UP Police.

According to reports, the police have arrested three members of the accused man's family who allegedly helped at different stages of the crime. Rakesh's father is a retired policeman. On Wednesday, the police reportedly dug out the body parts of the deceased children from a pit inside a house in Greater Noida. Small sandals caked in mud and a gravel were among the items discovered in the pit.

Rohan Pramod Botre of Kasganj police station said that the Rakesh's children were toddlers at the time of their murder. One was 18 months old and the other was three years old.

Botre said, "Rakesh's two children were aged 18 months and three years. He killed them and his wife in February 2018 ... and then buried the bodies in the house, covering the pit with cement. After the murder, he even filed a missing person's report, claiming his wife had taken his kids and left the house without any information."

After a few months after the incident, Rakesh's father-in-law had filed a police case in a Noida court alleging Rakesh of kidnapping and dowry harassment. The police were unable to find any major clue in the case for the past three years.

The police official said, "The accused then hit upon another plan to get the police off his back. The same year he and his girlfriend got together and murdered another person from his village in Kasganj - who resembled the accused."

Rakesh along with his female companion allegedly decapitated the man , cut off his hands and burnt off the head and hand. He then dressed the corpse in his own clothes and left his identity cards on the body to prove that it was him, the police said.

After the DNA test was done of the corpse, the police got to know that the body was not of Rakesh. This happened a month ago when the police started their investigation in the case. The delay in DNA rest results is yet to be explained by the police officials.

With the help of several evidence materials collected in the case, the police officer reached Rakesh who was living in Haryana under the fake identity of Dilip Sharma. The police said that Rakesh had told his employers that he belongs to Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

The police officers at the Kasganj police station have said that the accused person was a pathologist and that is how he must have been able to destroy evidence against him including the fingerprints.
