Yes and to unravel the mystery behind regulating periods via food, we connected with Body Cocoon’s founder and wellness director, Janvi Chitalia, and here’s what she had to say.

Janvi: There are two major factors that determine a timely period; one of them being diet and lifestyle and the other being effective stress management. It is important to understand that the key to rid irregular periods away, is to eat good complex carbohydrates such as bajra, jowar, ragi, barley, oats, and rajgeera as a replacement to rice, maida, sugars and potatoes. Adding protein is important as it is the key to managing effective fat loss and keeping weight under ideal BMI (Body Mass Index) range to aid the menstrual cycle.

So, here are six foods that will help you regularize your period cycle:

1. Unripe Papaya

Green, unripe papaya is considered useful in regulating menstrual flow as it helps the muscle fibers contract in the uterus. If periods are scanty, an unripe papaya is one of the best options to consume to increase the flow.

Tip – You can drink ½ glass of unripe papaya juice daily before periods
