Tina Dabi's Sister Ria Dabi Cracks UPSC Exam, Secures All India Rank 15

Following in her sister's footsteps, Ria Dabi cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams of 2020. The results of the final stage were declared on Friday.

IAS Tina Dabi took to her social media handle and shared the news that her sister secured the 15th rank in the civil services exams. Senior Dabi had topped the exam in 2015. As per reports, Ria Dabi had also attended Lady Shri Ram College of University of Delhi like her elder sister.

The results of the final stage exam (Main) were declared on September 24. A man named Shubham Kumar secured the first rank all over India. He was followed by two women, Jagarati Awasthi and Ankita Jain. The two secured AIR 2 and AIR 3 respectively. Awasthi is reportedly an electrical engineering graduate from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology in Bhopal. Out of the top 25 candidates, 12 are women. Total 761 candidates have been recommended for appointment.

The All India Rank six is also secured by a woman, Meera K, who is a mechanical engineering graduate of 2016. According to a report by Indian Express, Meera got a campus placement in L&T services but she quit her job to prepare for the civil services examinations.

The personality tests of the shortlisted candidates had started on August 2 this year. The tests continued till September 22 in afternoon and forenoon shifts. The UPSC exam is conducted every year in three stages. The first one is called preliminary, the second one being mains and the last interview round. The candidates selected in all three stages are given administrative positions in different parts of the country.
