With e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon, Shopclues, Myntra and Snapdeal entering the Indian market and becoming marketplaces in their own right, there is a huge demand to set up shops online. While the younger generation is more familiar with the how and what of the e-commerce industry, older generations are still figuring out their way. This is where Sugandhi Nagpal comes into the picture.

“We work as an e-commerce expert to help retailers, manufacturers and traders sell online–anyone who wants to sell online through marketplaces like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon, Shopclues, Myntra. We are working as the backbone of the e-commerce industry,” Sugandhi told SheThePeople.TV.

Sugandhi is the co-founder of Fiona Digital Studio through which she facilitates sellers to get connected with marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart,  Snapdeal, Paytm and Shopclues. She is working pan India and currently running projects from New Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh. She is also working as a Cataloguing Partner for Snapdeal and in talks with Amazon and Indian Institute of E-commerce to help people who want to learn about this booming industry.

On the initial challenges she faced while starting up her own ventures, she said, “Competition, dealing with unknown people, time constraint and payment issues were some of the hardcore challenges I dealt with.”

What is it that attracts her to the e-commerce industry? “There is no denying fact that e-commerce has re-entered India and is here to stay for long. Even the small and medium retailers of the country want to ride the wave and are ready to make a fortune out of the marketplace concept.”

Sugandhi has ventured into different arenas of commerce like Fashion, Home Furnishings, Sports goods etc and that helps her grow each day.

Any tips to succeed in this immensely growing online market? “I feel that no matter how crowded a market is, one should never allow it to intimidate and discourage from pursuing one’s goals.”
