“This film is not just about women… It is also about men to learn.” – Ajay Devgn at the trailer launch of #Parched.

Bollywood actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn recently launched the trailer of his upcoming production, ‘Parched’, which will be hitting theatres on September 23. Speaking to reporters at the trailer launch, the 47-year-old actor spoke his mind and criticised societal thinking. “This film is not just about women… It is also about men to learn. It’s society pressure, I would say, which forces men to do the things they do, apart from the mindset… From the film, there is nothing much that women need to learn about what is happening with them. I feel men need to learn what women are, and how to behave with them,” reported by TOI.

The tale of four ordinary women Rani, Lajjo, Bijli and Janaki, the film delves into their individual struggles, with the parched Gujrat landscape as the backdrop.

The actor added, “It is very sad, because though the issue is universal, the film is of our country. It is very sad that instead of starting with India, we had to start from abroad, because there is audience there which accepts such films. From there, the film has travelled and reached here. We hope the film is accepted here too. The myth that only typical commercial films work, that needs to be broken by the audience,” reported by Indian Express

Parched was screened under Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. It has also been screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melborune.

After gaining critical acclaim in the festival circuit, the film is now ready to be presented to the Indian audience.
