Why does the US remain so indifferent toward laws relating to gun ownership when innocent people and children are losing their lives every other day? Another mass shooting occurred in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, May 25, 2022. It has been revealed that the shooter who mass fired on a school campus was an 18-year-old, Salvador Ramos. The accused is revealed to have worked at a local Wendy’s, as confirmed by a manager at the restaurant. The shooting that took place in the Robb Elementary School is being called a"senseless tragedy," by the US Officials.

According to reports, the suspect had reached the school for the killings after murdering his grandmother at his house. He reportedly bought the gun on his 18th birthday. Reports have also mentioned that Salvador Ramos killed anyone who came in his way.

“On behalf of the entire CBP workforce, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims from today’s horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas," stated Chris Magnus, the US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner. Reports reveal that 19 children and 2 adults have been killed so far, in this tragic incident. Grief counseling is being offered to the citizens of Uvalde, Texas at the Willie De Leon Civic Center.

When asked about why he had this in possession he also asked the classmate not to worry about it. The friend of the accused revealed- “He would message me here and there, and four days ago he sent me a picture of the AR he was using … and a backpack full of 5.56 rounds, probably like seven mags". He stated that Ramos also stated-"I look very different now. You wouldn’t recognize me.’'.

The massacre at the Robb Elementary school is said to have begun at 11.32 Tuesday, when Salvador Ramos open fired in a fourth-grade classroom, sending little children fleeing for their lives. Spokesperson Marsha Espinosa spoke more about the status quo in Uvalde Texas stating- “Risking their own lives, these Border Patrol Agents and other officers put themselves between the shooter and children on the scene to draw the shooter’s attention away from potential victims and save lives,” The gunman is also reported to have been killed by the law enforcement.
