Television Actor Sriti Jha Is Winning Hearts For Her Poem On Asexuality

Television actor and poet, Sriti Jha is currently winning hearts through her beautiful poem. Her poem “Confessions of a Romantic Asexual” talks about being an asexual and what all she has to face as society continues to question the concept. She talks about how even though she loves to be kissed and hugged, sex does nothing for her.

People are praising her a lot for sharing her experiences. They called her brave for her poem.

Who Is Sriti Jha?

Sriti Jha is an Indian daily soap actor who is known for playing the female lead, Pragya, in popular television show Kumkum Bhagya. She hails from Begusarai in Bihar and is an English Honours graduate from Delhi’s Sri Venkateswara College.

Jha made her acting debut with Disney India’s teen drama Dhoom Machaao Dhoom where she played the role of Malini Sharma.  She was 20 at that time. After that, she appeared in the daily soap Jyoti and a few others.

Jha rose to stardom after playing the character of Jhanvi in hit soap Saubhagyavati Bhava. It was about the woman’s struggle against her abusive husband. Her other hit show, Kumkum Bhagya began airing in 2014. She is paired opposite actor Shabbir Ahluwalia and their fans like seeing the two together on screen. The show made her a win the Indian Telly Awards for two consecutive years.

Earlier in an interview with SheThePeople  Dr Pragati Singh had said, “Asexuality is a sexual orientation just like any other orientation such as homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality, etc. It is defined as an orientation in which you feel sexual attraction to no gender.”
