  2. "While he was already married with two children, Apsara continued to be persistent and also threatened to expose their relationship of over a year if he turned her away. Apsara had recently aborted their pregnancy and forced him to leave his family and marry her. This was Sai Krishna’s motive to kill her,” the police said.
  3. On June 5, police received a complaint from Sai Krishna, a priest in a temple of Venkateshwara colony, that his niece (sister's daughter) has been missing since June 3. He claimed in his complaint that on June 3, he dropped her to Shamshabad from where his niece was supposed to go to Bhadrachalam in a car along with his friends. Since June 4 she was not answering calls and her phone was switched off on June 5 from 11:30 am. Priest claimed that he was the last person who saw her before his niece went missing.
  4. Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) for a missing complaint and started their investigation. On further inspection when police noticed that the details given by the complainant priest in FIR were not matching the evidence collected by the police in their investigation.  They suspected the priest was misleading the crime and arrested him on the grounds of foul play.
  5. After probing the accused, he allegedly confessed his crime to the police that he murdered Apsara.
  6. The accused confessed to his extramarital affair with the deceased. He told that the deceased was forcing him to marry her despite knowing well that he was a married man and had a daughter with his wife.
  7. On further details of his crime, Krishna confessed that on June 3, Apsara informed her parents that she was going to Coimbatore and left the residence in Venkateshwara colony, from where she was picked by Krishna who was known to the deceased family as her friend.
  8. Krishna after picking up Apsara took her to Narkuda village in the Shamshabad district which is an isolated remote area. Krishna murdered Apsara there by bludgeoning her with a stone.
  9. Krishna then packed the body in a bag and brought the body back to Saroornagar, he then dumped the body in an unused manhole in front of the municipal office that was on the temple premises where the accused priest worked. He brought two tippers of red mud to cover the manhole and burnt her handbag and luggage to get rid of the smell and evidence. He also cleaned his car and parked it in his residence.
  10. Krishna then went to the deceased residence and met her parents, after which he took Apsara's mother Aruna to the police station to lodge a missing complaint of her daughter.
