Taylor Swift Breaks Billboard 200 Record Of Most Weeks At No. 1 Among Women

Good news for Taylor Swift’s fans! Her recent album Folklore has acquired the first position on the Billboard 200 albums chart once again, surpassing Whitney Houston's long-standing record. Swift broke Houston’s record for the most weeks at No.1 position among women musicians.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the album has collected seventh nonconsecutive week atop the tally. In doing so, Swift’s total weeks at No. 1 now stands at 47,  whereas Houston’s tally was 46, ANI reported. As of September 24, Folklore has earned 87,000 equivalent album units in America, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Last month, Folklore captured the biggest week for any album since Swift’s last release, 2019’s Lover.

The year 2019 was dominated by Taylor Swift, who was announced as the world’s highest-paid entertainer by the annual Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Her recent, Folklore was released on July 24 and earned Swift her seventh No. 1 album. Interestingly, in the last four years, Swift has been dominating the three biggest weeks for any album with Reputation (1.24 million units, Dec. 2, 2017-dated chart), Lover (867,000) and Folklore (846,000).

Furthermore, Folklore continues to have the most weeks at No. 1 for any album since Drake’s Views dominated the charts for 13 non-consecutive weeks in 2016. The album has also notched the most weeks at No. 1 among all albums by women, since Adele’s 25 landed 10 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1.
