Taapsee Pannu To Play Self-defence Instructor for her Next
Taapsee Pannu has made a niche for herself with films like “Pink” and “Naam Shabana”. Now she is all set to play a self-defence instructor in an upcoming short film under Kapil Verma’s direction and production.
Taapsee has been occasionally seen on-screen to flaunt stunts as she is trained in Aikido and mixed martial arts. This time it seems, she has taken up the charge of committing herself to the task of portraying roles that signify women empowerment in a big light.
Previously, we have already seen her showing the think level of martial art moves in her last film ‘Naam Shabana‘ and ‘Baby’.
“I narrated the script to her in Mauritius on the sets of ‘Judwaa 2′ and at the end of the narration, she asked me ‘When would you like to shoot it?’ She trained very hard for the film. We had a great time shooting, it was fun and quite intense too,” Verma said, the Indian Express reported.
“I had written this script around two years ago. I had watched Taapsee’s in ‘Pink’ and worked with her in ‘Naam Shabana‘. And I knew then that she would be perfect for the part,” he added.
While undoubtedly, short films bring out the very best of artists and filmmakers on one side, it also caters to film fans with great stories with smaller lengths.
“I was sold the first time I heard the script and had no doubts about the fact that I will do it regardless of who or what names will be a part of it,” Taapsee said in a statement.
The story of the short film revolves around the relationship between two siblings. Vicky Arora essays the role of the brother in the film.
