Minor Girl From Sweden Flies To Meet Online Friend, Police Reunites Her With Parents

 A 16-year-old girl from Sweden made friends with a 18-year-old resident of Chembur area in Mumbai on Instagram. The police have now reportedly reunited her with her family members in Sweden.

As per reports, the girl had left her home without informing her parents. The police were informed about the matter on December 4 that the girl had gone missing from her home in Sweden on November 27. DCP (crime) Neelotpal said that the police were informed after the yellow corner notice issued by Swedish police.

Swedish Girl Reunited With Parents:

The Swedish police reportedly told the Mumbai police that the girl has become friends with a boy in Mumbai via social media. The police then tracked the boy. Ravindra Salunkhe, the in-charge of Crime branch (Unit VIII) said that the boy told them how the girl was staying in a nearby flat in the Cheetah Camp area of Tromboy.

The police found the girl and sent to the Children Welfare Committee. They also informed the Swedish embassy. The father of the teenage girl flew down to India and met his daughter. The father and daughter flew back to Sweden on Saturday as per reports. The police officer Salunkhe said that the 18-year-old boy is a student and had intentions of harming the girl.

The officer said, "They had been chatting, speaking online and on video calls over the past few months. The girl then wanted to meet him and hence she flew down to Mumbai. In Sweden, those above the age of 15 can travel alone internationally and hence she did not have any problem in coming to India." The girl’s father later took to twitter to thank Mumbai Police for cracking the case.
