Jamshedpur Student Forced To Strip By Teacher, Sets Herself On Fire

A Jharkhand girl was recently forced to strip by her teacher and out of humiliation, she set herself on fire. Every other day young women are humiliated and put in extreme situations of violence as a price to pay for what?

Female students go through a lot of trouble only to receive a proper education. Firstly women are not always encouraged to go to school and then incidents like these at the hands of a teacher stop several other young women from receiving the education they deserve. Misbehaving with female students in such a derogatory manner is absolutely outrageous.

Student forced to strip by teacher

According to the reports, the girl was studying in Class 9 and she was suspected of cheating in an exam. Following that, a teacher took her to a room adjacent to the classroom where the exam was being held and asked her to strip in order to check for chits in her dress. Even after resisting strongly, she was forced to do it. The girl has described everything to the police in her statement and a complaint has been filed against the teacher in concern.

The girl went back home from school and shortly after she set herself on fire out of humiliation. The mother of the 14-year-old said that she could not bear the humiliation and thus did this horrific action to herself. According to the reports, she was immediately rushed to a hospital near their place by her family members and she is currently undergoing treatment. It is also said in the reports that the girl had suffered almost 80 per cent burn injuries and she remains to be in critical condition.

The police officers have said that they are investigating the matter following the complaint registered. But the incident has caused an outrage among the locals and they have come to the streets to protest against such behaviour conducted in school. According to the reports, its told that the locals have decided to visit the school themselves and take action against the teacher.

In July 2022, it was reported that a 17-year-old student in Kerala was asked to remove her bra before appearing for NEET exam. The incident was brought to light by the aspirant's father who filed a complaint to the police. He claimed that this was done to several female students present in that exam hall and even after months of preparation for the exam, the students could not perform properly after going through such a traumatic experience by the people in charge of the exam.
