Sridevi had gone to Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding with her younger daughter Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor. While Kapoor returned to Mumbai on Wednesday (Feb 21), Sridevi stayed with her sister. Kapoor then flew back on Saturday to surprise Sridevi. They were supposed to go out for dinner when Sridevi reportedly went to the bathroom, where she collapsed. When she did not come out for some time and there was no response from her, Kapoor and his friend broke into the bathroom, reported Hindustan Times.

“The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident as the forensic report only says that she drowned,” - an official

The Dubai Police has released the forensic report and given it to Sridevi’s family and the Indian Consulate, stated Gulf News. It also reported that this may cause a delay in the recovery of the body. Earlier, the body was supposed to be brought back to Mumbai on Monday morning. Industrialist Anil Ambani has offered his private jet to bring Sridevi’s body back home.

It is yet to be found out how the original reports of cardiac arrest and accidental drowning are inter-related.

“The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident as the forensic report only says that she drowned,” an official told Gulf News.
