Actor Sivakarthikeyan is facing backlash on social media following his recent address at a school function in which he criticised Koreans in jest. Social media users criticised him for saying that all Koreans look the same and that it's hard to tell a man from a woman. Many criticised the actor as being racist and said he should take sensitization workshops.

Sivakarthikeyan Racist Remark

In addition to acting, Sivakarthikeyan is well-known for his stage speeches, in which he mimics other stars and performs comedy. A video of his recent controversial address in front of children at school has been making the rounds on Twitter. The actor talked about how all Korean actors have the same appearance. He also reenacted a scene from his most recent Tamil film, Don, in which he treats the language and accent of Korea as fun.

As soon as the video went online, it quickly became popular and the actor was criticised for his actions. A user tweeted, "Sivakarthikeyan mocks Korean language (based on that racist "comedy" sequence from Don), says all Koreans look alike, and their women look like men. All these in an event at a school, in front of kids! Our celebrities badly need to attend special sensitisation workshops!"

Another user tweeted, "I have been a huge fan of SK right from his KPY days. This tweet is definitely not a sinister plan against him! It is just a plea to stars to be more sensitive!"

However, there were certain users who tweeted in favour of him. One user wrote, "It was told by him in the comical manner that doesn't mean to any respective persons' racism and bla bla.. Try to Understand first....You are an Human Being. Not a Robot Machine, thinking everything must be correct, strict, anger, frustrate, no funny, only ego"
