Deepak Singh Gaur, the spouse of district panchayat member Shweta Singh Gaur, was detained during a vehicle check in the Mataundh area of the district, according to Banda's Additional Superintendent of Police, Laxmi Niwas Mishra.

Shweta Singh Gaur was discovered hanging from the ceiling of her room in Banda's Indira Nagar neighbourhood on Wednesday, according to authorities. Despite the fact that the woman's death was attributed to hanging, Mishra said her brother had filed a criminal complaint accusing his sister's spouse, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and elder brother-in-law of killing her. In his lawsuit, the BJP leader's brother also claims that his sister has been subjected to constant pressure from her in-laws to have a male child, as well as ridicule over her inability to do so up to this point.

Shweta Singh Gaur Death Case: Report

Her husband works as a liquor trader, and she was elected to the Zila Parishad from Chandwara as a local BJP worker associated with the party's Uttar Pradesh wing. On April 27, her body was reportedly discovered hanging in her chamber. According to the police report, the room's doors were locked from the inside. Her husband, Deepak Singh Gaur, had been gone for two days and was being pursued by the police.

Senior police officials, including Banda Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinandan, arrived at the scene of the event on the evening of Wednesday. They'd brought a forensic team and a dog squad with them. After a thorough inquiry, the body was transported for a post-mortem examination.

The SP went on to say that the couple were having problems with their family and that they had a quarrel on Wednesday morning. With the aid of family members, they were able to resolve their differences. According to reports, the pair were at odds because Gaur was more politically popular than her husband, who had previously run for the District Panchayat from the Jaspura ward but failed.
