BJP Leader Shweta Singh Gaur's Family Says, Husband Killed Her To Hide Sex Racket

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shweta Singh Gaur died earlier last week and her husband was arrested on Friday. She was found dead at her residence in Banda on Wednesday. Her family had registered a complaint against her husband, who is also a worker at BJP, and her in-laws. It was also alleged that she was living in fear for her life and had recorded her husband's calls in order to use them as evidence.

The family of the deceased woman had registered the complaint against her husband Deepak Singh Gaur, his mother, father and elder brother. They allege that it was them who killed her. As per the family, the deceased woman had recorded evidence of her husband dealing with brokers for Russian, Moroccan and African girls. They alleged that it was linked to international sex traffic.

They also alleged that Gaur had shared a few of these recordings with her family before her death. Gaur's brother Rituraj alleged that she was "murdered" by Deepak in order for him to hide his alleged extramarital affairs with Russian sex workers.

In one of these recordings, he allegedly told a man supplying Russian girls, "I have come from Banda. I was given your number by Sunil Singh Gautam. Arrangements had to be made. Will you send me to the hotel or will I have to come?" He was also heard, in one of these audio recordings, asking if they had Russian or African girls and said that he will select one after the person sends him the pictures and their "rates."

In another recording, he is allegedly saying that he would pay in cash but the broker insists on being paid online. In yet another conversation, he is alleged to ask the broker to send two girls, a Russian and India for Rs 20,000. After discussion, he gets one Moroccan and Russian girl for Rs 23,000.

During these conversations, he allegedly mentioned that he was staying at MJ International Hotel in the Naka Hindola area of Lucknow and that both the girls had to be sent there.

Deepak, the husband of Shweta who was the district panchayat member had been absconding for the longest. Finally, the police detained him during a vehicle check in the Mataundh area of the district. His arrest was informed to news media by the Additional Superintendent of Police in Banda, Laxmi Niwas Mishra.
