Raj Kundra porn films case: Shilpa Shetty is not yet given a clean chit in the case, Mumbai police official said. Previously the Police had said in a statement that they had found no evidence suggesting an active role of Shetty in the case.
An official from the Mumbai Crime Branch said in their statement, "Shilpa Shetty hasn't been given clean chit yet. All possibilities/angles are being probed. Forensic auditors are appointed and they are looking into the transactions of all accounts in this case."
The High Court in Mumbai, pronouncing the order in the case after Kundra's plea, denied custody of him to the Mumbai police crime branch that is investigating the porn racket. His associate, Ryan Thorpe, has also been remanded to custody with him.
The Police said in their statement on July 20 that they have found no evidence that indicates an active role of Shilpa Shetty in the Raj Kundra porn films case.
Shilpa Shetty's husband filmmaker Raj Kundra has been arrested along with others in the case. He is accused of producing porn films. According to reports, Kundra's production house allegedly lured the aspiring actors wanting to work in web series into porn films. The actors were asked for doing bold scenes which then turned into semi-nude scenes or nude scenes against their will.
The Mumbai Crime Branch official also said that Raj Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi was only used as a face but all functioning of Hotshots was allegedly looked after by Kundra himself.
The Commissioner of Police said in his statement that they have enough evidence against Raj Kundra. Further, the police had found Whatsapp messages as crucial evidence in the case. They found a group called 'H AAccounts' created by Kundra. It included Pradeep Bakshi, Rob Digital Marketing Hotshot, Raw Evans, content head of Hotshot and Megha Viaan ‘accounts’.
The videos were allegedly sent to Kenrin Productions in the UK via a mobile application. The police have also arrested Raj Kundra's assistant Umesh Kamat who was reportedly the representative of Kundra's production house to the UK based firm. Complaints regarding this case were lodged with the Mumbai Police in February.
