Pak Singer Shae Gill Hits Back At Trolls Shaming Her For Mourning Sidhu Moose Wala

The singer was criticised for allegedly offering dua for a non-Muslim. Gill said that she was "sick" of people policing her.

Indian singer Sidhu Moose Wala's killing has shocked everyone in the music industry who knew the 29-year-old. Many international musicians like rapper Drake condoled his death. Pakistani singer Shae Gill also offered condolences to the late singer who was cremated on May 31 in his village in Punjab.

However, things quickly became sour as the trolls unleashed their vile thoughts and criticised her for condoling his death. The singer though gave a befitting reply to the trolls saying that since she was a Christian she could offer "prayers for people from different religions."

Shae Gill Trolled For Condoling Sidhu Moose Wala's Death

Gill, who rose to fame earlier this year after she was featured on Coke Studio Season 14 song Pasoori, reportedly, offered her condolences on Instagram after singer Sidhu Moose Wala's tragic death. "Heartbroken. May his soul rest in peace and may his family and friends have the strength to bear this loss," she had written in her post.

But the singer was criticised for allegedly offering dua for a non-Muslim. Sharing the screenshots of some of the replies on her Instagram story, Gill wrote, "I've been getting a lot of such messages. Just wanted to inform everyone that I am not a Muslim. I am a Christian and belong to a Christian family and can make prayers for people from different religions."

The singer further noted that she checks her messages often and that anyone who sends her hateful messages will be blocked. Gill said that she was "sick" of people policing her.

The Lahore-based singer on her Instagram, reportedly said, "I honestly wouldn't have announced it like that but I just got sick of people believing that they could police me by that standard."

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants who opened fire at the singer on May 29. Moose Wala who had is also a Congress leader was shot dead near his native village a day after his security was downgraded by the Punjab government along with over 400 other VIPs. His death has sparked a political furore in over the law and order situation in the crucial border state.
