Senior Journalist Jhimli Mukherjee Pandey Dies In Road Accident

Jhimli Mukherjee Pandey was in Kolkata holidaying with her family when the incident took place on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway near a war museum at Thaiyat village, around 4 pm.

She was in Kolkata holidaying with her family when the incident took place on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway near a war museum at Thaiyat village, around 4 pm. Her driver, mother and son have been injured but the husband is safe. She was sitting right behind the driver and so she had to bear the maximum impact, according to Sadar police station SHO Arun Kumar.

Media professional and educator Soumyadipta Banerjee took to Twitter and said, "Shocked by the sudden demise of my former colleague, senior journalist Jhimli Mukherjee Pandey. Jhimli's hired car collided with a vehicle on the Jaisalmer Jodhpur highway last Wednesday. Her family members and driver - who were travelling with her - are out of danger. Om Shanti."

Senior editor Sreemoy Talukdar said, "Absolutely smashed by the terrible news. Jhimli di was my former colleague. A cheerful person, a thorough professional and a kind human being. Can't think straight...."
