People who are close VK Sasikala and her family reported that she had been suffering from fever for the last few days.

Initially, people suspected that she had contracted the COVID-19 infection, but she subsequently tested negative for the virus in a rapid antigen test. The 63-year-old leader tested negative for the Coronavirus in the RT-PCR test too. Doctors have reported that although her health is stable, she does need oxygen support as she suffers from other complications like hypertension, diabetes and hypothyroidism.

What Will Happen After VK Sasikala Is Released?

VK Sasikala was jailed in a disproportionate assets case against her. She has been in jail for four years now. Questions have been raised about  whether she will be re-inducted into Tamil Nadu's AIADMK party. “There is no chance of her joining. She is not in the AIADMK party,” said Palaniswami. However, some are speculating that Sasikala could emerge as a game-changer in the Tamil Nadu elections after she is released. At the moment, Palaniswami has been declared as the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections.
