Saroj Khan Hospitalised For Breathing Problem, Tests Negative For COVID-19

The 71-year-old choreographer has been admitted to hospital after she complained of breathlessness. She has tested negative for COVID-19.

Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan was admitted to the Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai after she experienced breathlessness. She, however, has tested negative for COVID-19, a family member told PTI. “She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra East for breathing issues. She is doing well now and will be discharged in a day or two. She doesn’t have COVID-19 symptoms. Her report has come out negative,” the relative said. The veteran choreographer is reportedly doing better now.

Khan, who ventured into choreography with the 1974 film Geeta Mera Naam, started her career as an assistant choreographer.

Filmmaker Kunal Kohli today shared a health update on Khan, citing that she is recovering well. “Spoke to #RajuKhan just now. Son of #SarojKhan, He said Masterji is doing better & is recuperating. She was taken to the hospital as she felt breathless. No COVID. She’s better now. He thanks everyone for their prayers & wishes. We hope & pray our beloved Masterji is home soon,” he tweeted.

Saroj Khan has won three National Awards for Best Choreography for her work in Devdas, Jab We Met, and the 2007 Tamil film Shringaram.

Khan, who ventured into choreography with the 1974 film Geeta Mera Naam, started her career as an assistant choreographer. Over decades she has choreographed more than 2000 songs. She is best known for her choreography for songs such as Hawa Hawaii from Mr. IndiaEk Do Teen from TezaabDola Re from DevdasYeh Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met, and many more.

Last year she choreographed dance sequences for the film Kalank, starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit among others. She has won three National Awards for Best Choreography for her work in Devdas, Jab We Met, and the 2007 Tamil film Shringaram.

Khan has two daughters Sukyna and Hina, and a son, Hamid.
