According to a list published by the Forbes Magazine, eight-year-old YouTuber  Ryan Kaji is the year’s highest-earning creator on the platform. As NDTV reports, his channel, ‘Ryan’s World’ launched in 2015, has accumulated a total of $26 million in 2019. Already the highest-paid channel of 2018, the consistent success is remarkable. The second in the list is ‘Dude Perfect’ run by a group of friends in Texas that showcase mouth-gaping feats like throwing basketballs into hoops from top of buildings among others. The third position has been taken by five-year-old Anastasia Radzinskaya from Russia with two channels, ‘Like Nastya Vlog’ and ‘Funny Stacy’. With 70 million subscribers, she has earned a total of 18 million this year. The videos feature in Russian, English and Spanish languages.

The channel initially was an unboxing video where the child-star opened the boxes of toys and played with them.

According to the analytics website Social Blade, many videos of the channel have more than one billion views and the channel has touched 35 billion views since its creation.

Complaint against the channel by FTC

Recently, a consumer advocacy organisation, Truth In Advertising, filed a complaint against the channel at the US Federal Trade Commission. The channel was accused of subtlety in naming the brand that has sponsored it and paid to feature their products. It was then that the channel was renamed as ‘Ryan’s World’ and expanded its content to included educational videos also.
