The multifaceted, 31-year-old Singer Rihanna is now officially the world's highest paid female in the music industry, according to Forbes' annual list of America's Richest Self-Made Women for 2019. Rihanna has an estimate worth of $600 million, thus topping the list as the highest paid woman in the music industry.
According to the publication, Rihanna's wealth went skyward after her lucrative partnership with luxury good company, LVMH, and collaboratively she launched her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line in 2017, which generated more than $550 million in its first year. Her last studio album “Anti” came out in 2016.
Forbes reported that the cosmetics line has earned Rihanna $570 million in just 15 months of business.
“They extended the offer to me and it was a no-brainer because LVMH is a machine,” Rihanna said of her clothing line to The New York Times Style Magazine. “Bernard Arnault was so enthusiastic; he trusted me and my vision,” she added. Recently, on May 22, Rihanna confirmed the launch of her much-rumoured fashion label and named it the label Fenty, inspired by the singer’s full name – Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and will launch in Spring 2019, according to BBC.
Madonna placed second was reported to have worth $570 million (who previously topped the list), while Celine Dion ($450 million), Beyoncé ($400 million), and Taylor Swift ($360 million) round out the top five richest women in music.
- Rihanna's net worth is $600 million, making her the world's wealthiest female musician
- Millions of worth came from music but most of her money comes from brand partnerships and her Fenty Beauty brand
- Rihanna most recently launched Fenty, a luxury fashion house with LVMH
- With a fortune of $600 million, she's richer than Madonna, Celine Dion, and even Beyoncé
“Rihanna's success clearly doesn't come off the back of the music although that's how she initially gained fame. It's all about her relevance and how she resonates with customers online. She's very connected to her fans through social media and she's always updating them on the newest products and things like launch dates,” said Hannah Symons, Global Beauty Manager at Euromonitor International.
“A lot of the people buying her products are not people who were buying her music. Rihanna has been around for 15 years but the people buying her products are aged 16-19, so wouldn't have been around when she started making music. And it's not just because she caters for darker skin tones either, she also caters for people at the paler end of the spectrum. And it's this inclusive element that makes her stand out,” she added.
Rihanna is currently holidaying in Italy with her billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel. “She has kept this under wraps, but they have been together officially since January,” Elle reported a source quoting. “This relationship is the real deal....They've been spending a lot of time away from prying eyes and are really serious. His family are also extremely wealthy and private. She was coming into the UK on a regular basis to see him.”
