A couple of hours before inaugurating her dance Academy, television personality Rakhi Sawant has been detained by the Mumbai Police on January 19.
She has been detained for questioning in connection with the case filed by actress Sherlyn Chopra. The latter had filed a case against Sawant for using inappropriate and objectionable language.
It has been officially announced by Sherlyn Chopra that Rakhi Sawant has been arrested by the Mumbai police in a recent tweet “Breaking News!!! Amboli Police has arrested Rakhi Sawant in respect of FIR 883/2022 yesterday, Rakhi Sawant’s ABA 1870/2022 was rejected by Mumbai Sessions Court."
Rakhi Sawant Detained in Sherlyn Chopra’s Case
It is believed that Sawant has been arrested in the Sherlyn Chopra case when she allegedly made a statement in an interview earlier about killing or hitting the actress. However, there has been no official statement given by the Mumbai Police about the arrest. As for now, Sawant has been detained only for questioning.
In November last year, Sherlyn was at odds with Rakhi Sawant who came out in support of Sajid and Raj Kundra as the former came out as a victim of #MeToo and accused Sajid Khan. Since then, the two have been in a tug-of-war with each other. In addition, lately, Sawant was also accused of posting obscene photos and videos of a female model and making them viral across the net. Updates from the Mumbai Police are yet to be out regarding the matter.
Recently, Rakhi Sawant has been in the news for marrying her long-time beau Adil Khan Durrani whom she had already tied the knot in July last year. However, it was later this year that they recently revealed their already-planned wedding. However, while she was being papped, she revealed the tension with her mother by her marriage owing to the fact that her mother was already terminally ill. On the work front, Rakhi was last seen as one of the five finalists in Bigg Boss 4 Marathi.
