The woman was from Mohanpura in the Todabhim region, according to Babu Lal, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Nadauti. According to the official, her family members complained that she had been abducted and then killed. According to Republic TV's report, the girl sustained burn injuries on her face and body due to the application of a highly inflammatory chemical. The police have preserved the deceased college student's body in the mortuary of Hindaun Hospital.
