Rajasthan: Five children died today in Jalore after being hit by a car on their way home from school. The car’s driver has been arrested. The District Collector and the SP have already left for the site. Meanwhile, the details are yet to be revealed.

According to sources, a few days back, an incident was reported where five children died after falling into a grain storage container in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The incident happened on Sunday, those children died of suffocation after falling into grain storage in Bikaner’s Himmarshee Village. While playing, five children including four girls and one boy, fell into an iron grain storage bin. Almost all of the children were trapped inside and died from suffocation.

Another case was reported on the same day, three children were killed in the Jhunjhunu district on Saturday when a heap of soil fell on them. Eight children have died in two separate districts throughout the state. According to police, they were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed three of them dead on arrival. Prince and Suresh, both seven years old, and Sona, ten, have been named as the deceased. According to police, the wounded boy is being treated.

After a post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to family members. On Monday, Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his condolences over the deaths of eight children in two separate accidents in the districts of Bikaner and Jhunjhunu.

The Chief Minister tweeted and expressed his grief over Twitter, “The death of eight children in accidents in Himtasar village, Napasar (Bikaner) and Chirana Village, Udaipurwati (Jhunjhunu), is extremely heartbreaking and unfortunate. My deepest condolences are with the bereaved family, God bless them with the strength I wish the injured child a speedy recovery (In Hindi).”
