Rahul Gandhi is on a three-day election campaign in Coimbatore and Tirupur. He addressed the public on the matters concerning the central government and the plight of Tamil Nadu under the BJP rule and the state of women. He said, " I agree that without giving equal place to women no country can progress." He opined that India is currently run the organisation RSS and called 'male chauvinist'. He said that RSS doesn't include women.

"Any organisation that doesn't let women in it obviously doesn't respect women. If you respected women, you would have given them equal space in your organisation," he added.

The politician also alleged that the people of Tamil Nadu are being suppressed and disrespected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling party BJP. He also claimed that the state government of Tamil Nadu led by AIADMK is compromised. He said, " Just because Modi controls the Tamil Nadu government, he cannot control the Tamil people."
