Iran has released Oscar-winning film actor Taraneh Alidoosti, three weeks after she was jailed for criticizing a crackdown on anti-government protests, local reports said. Iran’s ISNA news agency said Taraneh, the 38-year-old star of Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning 2016 film, The Salesman, was released on bail. After her release from the Evin Prison in Tehran on Wednesday, Taraneh posed with bunches of flowers, surrounded by friends. No further details have been released about her case.

Taraneh was among several Iranian celebrities who expressed support for the nationwide protests and criticised the authorities’ violent clampdown on dissent. She had posted at least three messages in support of the protests on Instagram before her account was disabled.

Belinda Clark immortalised at the Sydney Cricket Ground Walk of Honour

Australia's Belinda Clark has become the first female cricketer to have a statue cast in her honour, a bronze sculpture of the former captain unveiled outside Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

"I'm excited to have the sculpture in place and for people to now look at it and perhaps wonder what that is, who that is and to be able to tell a bit of a story is really important," Clark said. "The sculpture encapsulates being able to have a go-to be courageous, take on those challenges and break convention.

"I want people to take away that you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it and you have good people around you, and I think I've been very fortunate to have had great support and have a bit of an imagination to take my game where I wanted to take it, and hopefully the sport is in a better place for it."

According to Cricinfo, Clark played 15 Tests and 118 one-day internationals and one T20I becoming the first player to score a double century in ODIs when she made 229 not out against Denmark in 1997.

Woman’s Decomposed Body Found In A Drum In Bengaluru Railway Station

A cleaning staff from the Yeshwantpur railway station in Bengaluru, found a decomposed body of a woman in a drum on the goods platform while working.

The staff was at platform number 1  this morning and quickly alerted when he found the drum and called the cops posted at the railway station about it, after witnessing a very strong unpleasant smell coming from it.

The body is said to be wrapped in a plastic covering, with a white cloth piece tied around the neck of the dead body. It is suspected that some chemical was also poured upon the body to speed up the process of decomposition.

Delhi Car Horror: Friend Of Woman Dragged By Car Seen Walking Away From Crash Site

Moments after a Delhi woman was run over by a car in the early hours of New Year's Day and dragged away, caught in its wheel, her friend, who was with her on a scooter, was seen walking away from the crash site, in the latest security camera clip to emerge from the incident.

Anjali Singh's friend Nidhi is seen walking through a narrow lane barely 150 metres away from where their scooter collided with a car carrying five drunk men, police sources said on Wednesday.

According to her, she left the scene in panic after the collision and did not tell anyone about the accident "out of fear."
