Puneeth Rajkumar's Daughter Reaches Bengaluru, Last Rites To Be Held On Sunday

Puneeth Rajkumar Funeral Postponed: The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai informed the media that the last rites of Puneeth Rajkumar will be held on Sunday instead of Saturday.

The actor's family is waiting for Rajkumar's elder daughter Vanditha to return from the US. As per the late actor's brother, Vanditha arrived in Delhi in the afternoon and reach Bengaluru by evening.

As per reports, Rajkumar's daughter is a student who goes to school in the USA. The family was waiting for her to reach India so that Rajkumar can be cremated. Heartbreaking visuals were shared from the cremation site in which the late actor's daughter Dhruti was seen paying tributes to her father.

The CM said, "We have postponed the cremation to facilitate everyone to pay their respects. So don't rush and peacefully follow the instructions of the police force at the venue." He said added that it not in their custom to perform the final rituals after sunset so they will wait till tomorrow.

A police officer while speaking to reporters said that decision was taken after consulting with Rajkumar's family members, police and civic officials.

Raghavendra Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar's brother said, "For now we want to give every fan an opportunity to pay their last respects. You have all cooperated with us to conduct this smoothly and peacefully. And I request you to continue to give your cooperation to us."

The actor passed away on October 29 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He firstly complained of chest pain when his family took him to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. He was just 46 years old.

The actor is survived by his daughters and his wife Ashwini Revanath. The couple had married each other in 1999. The death of the Sandalwood actor has shocked many of his fans and people in the industry. He was fondly called Appu by everyone. He started in acting career in 1985 as a child artist in a film titled Bettada Hoovu. His performance had won him many awards back then including the prestigious National Film Award. Over the years, he has been featured in more than 29 Kannada films. A few of them are Anjani Putra, Abhi, Veera Kannadiga, Hudugaru and many others. His last film titled Yuvarathnaa released earlier this year.
