Using Black Magic For Male Child: A 31-year-old woman from Pune filed a complaint at Chakan Police Station in Pimpri Chinchwad district accusing her husband and in-laws of harassing her for being unable to produce a male child since last four years.
The woman in her complaint said that her in-laws and husband allegedly took her to a godman in the Khed tehsil and performed black magic on her. The godman assured the family that the ritual will result in birth of a male heir.
In-laws Booked For Using Black Magic For Male Child:
As per the complaint, the woman was stripped naked at the command of the godman and then made to eat ashes. The woman's mother-in-law also smeared the ashes along with kumkum (vermillion powder) and turmeric on her body as part of the black magic ritual.
The complaint also added the godman as accused in the case. The woman also alleged that her husband along with his family harassed for dowry before sending her back to her parents house for several months. The husband allegedly re-married without informing the woman so that he got get a son.
The woman's husband, her in-laws and the godman have been booked under sections 323, 506, 354, 498 (a), 504, 354, 25, 34 and 3 of the Indian Penal Code. In addition to that, the accused persons are also charged under the section 3 of Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act of 2013. The police officials have reportedly stated that the case in under investigation.

In Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district, a 28-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her husband as she could not give them a male heir. The woman had given birth to four daughters and the last one was born just three months before her murder, as per police officials.
The incident took place in a village named Dindoli of Shivpuri district in May 2021.
