Woman molested and her husband duped by railway engineer: The accused allegedly duped the couple of 1.5 lakh rupees under the guise of providing the husband with a job in the railway department. When the couple asked back the money, the accused molested the woman.

The accused, who is a railway engineer, also reportedly used casteist slurs against the couple. He has been booked under the Prevention of Atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act for the same.

According to the police, the couple were employed at the engineer’s house since 2019. The engineer promised the husband a job in the railway department and had taken a sum of 1.5 lakh rupees.

However, he failed to do so and after getting frustrated with the years of wait, the couple started asking for the money. As a repressive measure, the accused allegedly pulled the woman inside the house and molested her, according to the complaint.

ACP Chandrakant Sangale of Lashkar division of Pune police said, “We have got the information about the amount from their complaint. The investigation is going on.”

The wife, who is a 27-year-old housemaker, lodged a complaint against the railway engineer. She is reported to be living with her husband in an outhouse in the railway quarters.

Arun has around 20 complaints – for theft, dishonesty, stolen property, etc., – filed against him across Delhi’s police stations.

Furthermore, the police recovered a Santro, Rs 3,000, and two mobile phones from the accused.
