A 47-year-old professor, identified as Rohit Shrivastav, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 24-year-old doctor during a Delhi-Mumbai Indigo Airlines flight. The incident reportedly occurred on a flight that departed from Delhi at approximately 5:30 am on Wednesday. Both individuals were seated next to each other during the journey.

On Friday, police reported that a 47-year-old professor had been apprehended for sexually harassing a woman doctor during a Delhi-Mumbai flight. The incident occurred on Wednesday while the flight was en route, and both the 24-year-old victim and the accused were seated beside each other on the aircraft.

Professor Accused of Harassing Woman on Delhi-Mumbai Flight

According to Sahar police, the doctor from Delhi lodged a complaint stating that Shrivastav deliberately touched her inappropriately during the flight, just before it was scheduled to land. The situation escalated into a verbal argument between the two passengers, prompting the airline crew to intervene.

Upon landing, both individuals were taken to the Sahar police station, where a First Information Report (FIR) was filed and the doctor's statement was recorded. The accused professor, Rohit Shrivastav, was charged under Sections 354 and 354A of the Indian Penal Code, which pertain to assault or criminal force with intent to outrage a woman's modesty and sexual harassment, respectively.

Following the registration of the FIR, Shrivastav was arrested and presented before the court, which subsequently remanded him in judicial custody. However, he was later released on bail pending further legal proceedings. The investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing as authorities handle the case.
