Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was protesting outside the Congress headquarters in Delhi along with other leaders against unemployment, price-rise and hike in GST prices. The footage shared by the media shows how Vadra was hauled away by the police personnel.

President of the Indian National Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi led other MPs of Congress to protest against the government by wearing black clothes to Parliament. But parliamentary proceedings were stopped when Congress MPs created an uproar about ignoring people's issues against the government. It was followed by a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan and a gherao of the Prime Minister's house. A statement was sent from the party that said that the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members will hold a 'Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan' march from Parliament.

According to reports, the Delhi Police did not permit this to occur based on security reasons. Following a ban on large gatherings in areas of New Delhi, imposing a Section 144. But the Congress leaders carried on their march today, as seen in many reports.

In a video shared by ANI, Priyanka Gandhi was seen wearing black in protest had climbed over the barricades and held a sit-in at a spot with other members of the party. As per reports, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi were also detained in the morning for the same reason along with Shashi Tharoor. They were detained by the police in Vijay Chowk.

As seen in many footages, Priyanka Gandhi was dragged by women police officials while they were trying to detain her. Gandhi was appearing to resist the detention. The video is now making rounds all over headlines and social media.

Before the protest started, Rahul Gandhi had said in a press conference, "We're witnessing the death of democracy. What India has built brick by brick, starting almost a century ago, is being destroyed in front of your eyes. Anybody who stands against this idea of onset of dictatorship is viciously attacked, jailed, arrested and beaten up." And he tweeted saying, "Democracy is a memory," along with photos of the protest march.

To this Bharatiya Janata Party has responded by asking if there is 'democracy' in the Congress Party which is known for its dynastic legacy.

Protests by Congress Party are not just happening in the capital but in other cities of the country too. As per reports, Congress is holding protests in every capital city with its leaders and members. Some Congress leaders have been detained while protesting and are sent to the Azad Maidan police station in Mumbai.
