Priya Prakash Varrier, the internet sensation who went viral in 2018 for her iconic wink, will soon be seen in the film Check alongside actors Nithiin and Rakul Preet Singh. Releasing on February 19, the film is produced by Bhavya Creations and directed by Telugu film director Chandrasekhar Yeleti. Announcing the release date, Nithiin shared a poster of the film on Friday, The wait is over! #Check♟️ is coming to you on February 19th. 😎

Ahead of the film's release, here are ten things to know about Priya Prakash Varrier to refresh your memory:
1. In 2018, when Varrier was 18, a clip of her from her debut film Oru Adaar Love went viral on the internet. When in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi Varrier winked at a boy, all of social media went into a frenzy. Here was a new face on the screen, with a million-dollar smile and wink.
2. She instantly became a national obsession, with memes and trends to her name. It propelled her to become the most searched celebrity on Google, dethroning Sunny Leone.
3. Through the hashtag #PriyaPrakashVarrier, her popularity grew manifold. At the time, the 'wink-girl' became the world’s third highest celebrity on Instagram to gain more than 606K followers on a single day.
4. Talking about the overnight success she received, Varrier in an interview had said, “I am very happy. Don’t know how to handle so much love. It’s completely surreal. I’m falling short of words trying to express myself. Never expected this.”
5. At 7 million followers now, 21-year-old Varrier is now a social media celebrity, alongside being an actor. She often posts pictures from her photoshoots as well as gives followers a peek into her personal life with friends and family.
6. Born in 1999, in Poonkunnam, Thrissur, Kerala, Varrier pursued a BCom degree at Vimala College.
7. Last year, Varrier became the target of brutal trolling when she uploaded some pictures from a shoot on Instagram. She was shamed for showing skin and curves in a lehenga. On her Instagram stories, Varrier had lashed out at trolls saying, "I go through this sort of shaming on a daily basis and I'm proud of myself to have come this far inspite of whatever these bullies put me through."
8. Her upcoming release, Check, was reportedly set for a 2020 release, but suffered a delay because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
9. While her first film Oru Adaar Love was Malayalam, Check will mark Varrier's debut into Telugu cinema, opposite some of the biggest names in the South Indian film industry.
