Prince Raj sexual assault case: A week after the alleged sexual assault case surfaced against Chirag Paswan’s cousin Prince Raj Paswan, the complainant has now filed an anticipatory bail application before Delhi’s Patiala House Court. The woman had filed a sexual abuse complaint against Raj, who is a Lok Janshakti Party MP from Samastipur, last week at the Connaught Place police station. An FIR in the matter is yet to be registered.
Before the sexual assault complaint, Raj had earlier filed an FIR against two persons for allegedly threatening to frame him in a false rape case and demanding one crore rupees. He is among the five MPs within the party who have recently rebelled against Chirag Paswan. “It has come to my knowledge that a woman has levelled some allegations against me," Raj had told The Indian Express last week adding that they had filed a complaint on February 10 against the said woman and her partner and submitted all the evidence before the police in the matter.
According to her account, the woman has alleged that Raj had given her water laced with sedatives and she fainted after consuming it. She accused Raj of allegedly sexually assaulting her after she lost her consciousness. The Samastipur MP, however, has claimed in his complaint that he met the woman in 2019. She was a party worker and their interactions were limited to the same. By June 2020, they got close and went on to have a physical relationship. Later he confronted the woman after he found out that she was in a live-in relationship with a man and after that, he started ignoring her. He alleged that one day, her friend called him from her number and threatened to leak an objectionable video of the two. He alleged that the man demanded Rs 1 crore from him for not releasing the video.
Raj had also clarified his statement on June 17 on Twitter denying any such allegations or assertion that has been made against him. "All such claims are blatantly false, fabricated, and are part of a larger criminal conspiracy to pressurise me professionally, and personally by threatening my reputation," he tweeted. After she "honey trapped" him, according to Raj, the woman and her partner allegedly started blackmailing and extorting money from Raj.
