Political Leaders Express Their Grief As Bharatiya Janata Party's MLA Kiran Maheshwari Passes Away

Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA from Rajasthan, Kiran Maheshwari, passed away on Sunday night at Gurugram’s Medanta hospital. She tested positive for the COVID-19 in October and as her condition kept worsening she was moved to Medanta earlier this month. On learning about her untimely demise several political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express condolences and pay tributes to the late politician.

PM Narendra Modi wrote in his tweet, “Pained by the untimely demise of Kiran Maheshwari Ji. Be it as MP, MLA, or Cabinet Minister in the Rajasthan Government, she made numerous efforts to work towards the progress of the state and empower the poor as well as marginalised. Condolences to her family. Om Shanti."

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot also expressed his grief and wrote, “Saddened to know of the untimely demise of BJP leader & Rajsamand MLA Kiran Maheshwari Ji. My heartfelt condolences to her family members and supporters in this most difficult time. May God give them the strength to bear this loss. May her soul rest in peace.”

Smriti Irani, the Union Cabinet Minister of Textiles and Women & Child Development tweeted, “I am shocked to learn about the demise of respected Kiran Maheshwari Ji. As the National President of BJPMahilaMorcha, former General Minister and MLA. Kiran Ji selflessly served the organization and society. May her soul rest in peace and give strength to family in this hour of grief.”

Vasundhara Raje, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan wrote, “ I am shocked to hear the news of the untimely demise of former minister and Rajsamand MLA Smt Kiran Maheshwari. Kiran Saying goodbye like this is a personal loss not only for the BJP family but also for me. Provide peace to the departed soul and support to the family.”

Paying tribute to Maheshwari, Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia said that her role as a successful public representative and organiser was extremely effective. He wrote, "Today, the family of the Bharatiya Janata Party is distraught with mourning. Shocked over the untimely demise of Kiran Maheshwari Ji. She was a leader of prospects, her voice in the House used to leave the opposition speechless, her role as a successful public representative and organiser was extremely effective."
