A report in DNA also confirmed that Shraddha, who is currently busy shooting Street Dancer 3D in London along with Varun Dhawan, has been replaced by Parineeti Chopra.

Since the starting of the film, there had been rumours of Shraddha's quitting the biopic. Shraddha's first look of the film had been released and had created much interest. Most recently in a Twitter thread, it was confirmed that Amol Gupte’s Saina Nehwal biopic is finally happening and she was playing the role but has reportedly quit over scheduling conflicts.

T-Series head Bhushan Kumar told Mumbai Mirror, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent... We can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”

Earlier, there were speculations that Shraddha was struggling to match up to Saina’s style of playing badminton. According to a report on an entertainment website, Shraddha was unable to cope with the training schedule of the film.

A source told,  "While one would think that Shraddha would be upset about being ousted from the film, nothing of that sort has happened. In fact, she was relieved to have been out of the project, knowing that she wasn’t able to get the character right."

“I am excited to put in all the training and hard work that comes with learning the game and portraying Saina on-screen,” Chopra said.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to Twitter confirming the news:

Earlier, Mumbai Mirror had quoted a source as saying, “Shraddha started feeling unwell a few days into the schedule. She stopped shooting on September 27 (2018) after a check-up revealed that she has dengue. She is expected to return to the film’s set in a couple of days. Meanwhile, Amole continues to shoot portions featuring the child actor who portrays the younger Saina, and other supporting artists."

Shraddha also paid a visit to Saina’s parents at their residence in Hyderabad last year. Her hands are tied with the promotion of her action thriller Saaho, which is all set to release in August this year. She has also been roped in for Baaghi 3 alongside Tiger Shroff which is expected to go on the floors in a few months.

Meanwhile, Parineeti is busy promoting her upcoming release of Kesari, based on the battle of Saragarhi fought between the British Indian army's Sikh Regiment and Afghan tribesmen in September 1897. The film features Akshay Kumar in the lead role along with her.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the film to release.
