OTT Releases This Weekend : With lockdown like restrictions imposed in most states throughout the country, you must be wondering how to spend time during the weekend. SheThePeople brings to you an interesting line-up of films that had an OTT release this weekend

Kaun Banegi Shikharwati

Kaun Banegi Shikharwati, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Soha Ali Khan, Lara Dutta, Kritika Kamra and Ananya Singh in the lead roles, is about an elderly king who decides to call back his four estranged daughters to give his palace to one of the daughters. It is interesting to watch how he decides who will get the palace. You can watch the movie on Zee 5 from 7 January onwards.

Lakshya

Lakshya is a Telugu sports drama that will be available on Amazon Prime on January. The film stars Naga Shaurya in the lead. It revolves around the story of a promising archer who descends into a personal hell of drug abuse and alcohol following a tragic event. It is directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi and will be a visual delight for sports aficionados.

Anbarivu

Anbarivu is a Tamil action drama starring Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi, Kashmira Pardeshi,  Napoleon, Sai Kumar and Asha Sharath in the lead. It revolves around the lives of siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall and their parents Jack and Rebecca Pearson. You can watch it on Disney+ Hotstar after it released on January 7.

Binti

Binti, meaning young woman, will be available on OTT platform Netflix on January 7. It will tell the story of four Tanzanian women—Tumaini, Angel, Stella and Rose -  unknowingly connected with each other through their ability to persevere extreme hardships in the city of Dar-es-Salaam.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui 

Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer Chadigarh Kare Aashiqui released in the theaters in December and has been streaming on Netflix since 7 January, 2022. It is a romantic drama that revolves around a weight-lifter Manu and Zumba teacher Maanvi Brar who fall in love but find themselves trapped in a complicated situation when the former comes to know about the latter's sexuality.

Pushpa: The Rise

Pushpa: The Rise, an action thriller starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil shows the rise of a young man, Pushpa Raj (Arjun) from a small-time red sanders smuggler to the top of smuggling racket. You can watch it on Amazon Prime from January 7 onwards.

This is Us (Season 6) 

This is Us (Season 6) that released on Disney+ Hotstar on January 5 is the final season of the Dan Fogelson's dramedy. It revolves around the lives of a unique set of siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall and their parents Jack and Rebecca Pearson.
