Suchata Chuangsri, also known as Opal, was crowned Miss World 2025 on May 31 in Hyderabad, making her the first Thai woman to win the coveted title. She beat 107 contestants, including Ethiopia's Hasset Dereje Admassu, who finished as the runner-up, and India's Nandini Gupta, who finished in the Top 10. At the grand finale, Opal wore a white floral gown with iridescent elements that replicated the gemstone she is named after. The dress was meant to symbolise healing and strength. Her journey in pageantry has been more than about beauty, it is a platform for advocacy. Her mission is to be "the person that someone will look up to,” she revealed.
