Round 2 For Me: Tahira Kashyap Reveals Breast Cancer Relapse After 7 Years

Filmmaker and author Tahira Kashyap has revealed that she is facing breast cancer once again. Taking to Instagram on Monday, April 7, she shared an emotional post about her health update. This marks her second time battling the disease, after her first diagnosis in 2018.

In her post, Tahira wrote, "Seven-year itch or the power of regular screening, it's a perspective. I would like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me... I still got this." She highlighted the importance of regular checkups and early detection, encouraging others to not ignore routine health screenings.

Along with the post, Tahira shared a heartfelt caption that reflected her positive attitude. She wrote,  "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because for one it’s a better drink and two you know you will give it your best once again."

Soon after the post, many of her followers and industry friends sent her messages of love, strength, and encouragement. People praised her for being open about her journey and for spreading awareness about the importance of health screenings.

Tahira, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, often shares glimpses of their life together. The couple has two children, a son and a daughter. In a recent Instagram story, Tahira shared a fun animal fact that read,   “Did you know? Otters have a pocket in their skin to keep their favourite rock in. Some keep the same rock their entire lives.” Tagging Ayushmann, she sweetly added, “My rock.”

On the professional front, Tahira made her directorial debut in 2024 with Sharmajee Ki Beti, which began streaming on Amazon Prime Video in June, 2024. The film stars Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Vanshika Taparia, Arista Mehta, Sharib Hashmi, and Parvin Dabas. The story highlights the everyday lives, dreams, and challenges of middle-class women from different generations, offering a relatable and heartfelt narrative.
