Old-Nangal Dalit Girl Rape Case, Mayur Vihar Case To Be Heard In Fast Track Court

A spokesperson from the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Thursday that the tw0 recent rape cases including the Delhi minor Dalit girl rape case will be taken up in fast track courts.

The ministry reviewed the rape cases along with the Delhi police and came to the decision. The two cases to be taken into fast-track courts in Delhi are - Mayur Vihar rape incident and the Delhi minor girl rape and murder case where the deceased was allegedly cremated without her parent's permission.

A home ministry spokesman tweeted, "As per the directions of the Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah, Ministry of Home Affairs reviewed the rape and murder case of a girl child in Nangal area of Delhi and rape of a girl child in Mayur Vihar with @DelhiPolice."

Another tweet from the spokesperson read, "The Delhi Police is committed to file the chargesheet in the court within 30 days of the registration of the case, so that the trial of these cases can start at the earliest. Both the cases will be heard in fast track special courts in Delhi."

The crime branch of Delhi police said that they are still investigating the alleged rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in the Old Nangal village of the city. The parents of the minor girl have alleged that the girl was raped and cremated without their consent. The priest who allegedly cremated her, reportedly told her mother that if she calls the police then they will make a big deal about it and the doctors would sell her organs post-mortem.

In the second case of Mayur Vihar, a 34-year-old man is accused of sexual assault of a six-year-old. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had sought a detailed action report in the case on Thursday regarding the case. According to police reports, the minor was allegedly kidnapped and raped while she was playing outside. She was reportedly found bleeding and was taken to the hospital.
