Odisha Lawyer Sends Rape Threat To Kangana Ranaut, Says Account Was Hacked

Kangana Ranaut reportedly received an online rape-threat from the account of a lawyer based in Odisha. The comment was made under her Facebook post where she had addressed the FIR filed against her in Mumbai for "spreading communal hatred". The lawyer has however alleged that his social media account was hacked. Ranaut is yet to make a comment on the issue.

On October 17, an FIR was registered against Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel, on orders of Bandra Magistrate Metropolitan Court. A private complaint had reportedly been filed against Ranaut and Chandel by fitness trainer and casting director Munnawarali Sayyed, accusing them of "creating divisions between communities and spreading communal hatred” on social media."

Reacting to the news, Ranaut had posted a message from her social media accounts, "Who all are fasting on Navratris? Pictures clicked from today’s celebrations as I am also fasting, meanwhile another FIR filed against me, Pappu sena in Maharashtra seems to be obsessing over me, don’t miss me so much I will be there soon #Navratri." According to a report in Times of India, the accused lawyer Mehendi Reza made a rape threat against Ranaut in the comments section of this post. Later alleging that his account had been hacked, Reza wrote, "Today my Facebook ID got hacked at evening and some derogatory comments get posted. This is my not views regarding any women or any community. I am also very shocked and apologise for it. I request to all the people of kindly accept my apology and forgive me whose sentiments got hurt. I am really sorry for it." He went on to delete his Facebook account.
