Don’t we all just love fashion? Boho chic is the new fashion trend  going on for the past year or two. And ecommerce website Vajor yells all things bohemian. Founded by Nathasha A R Kumar, Vajor started two years ago and has very rapidly grown to become a popular name in fashion.

Ludhiana-born Nathasha tells SheThePeople.TV about how it all started for her.

“At the age of 17, I was in Hong Kong where I was studying. I used to read a lot of books about startups and at that point of time, there was a lot of buzz around it in the west. I thought I needed to do something in business, so I left my college and started working in a company as a distributor. Then that company flew down to India and I was their initial partner. But things did not work out between us and I left the company.”

“I thought I needed to start something of my own. That’s when I started my B2B fashion line,” recalled Nathasha.

There are a gazillion fashion lines everywhere but what makes Vajor different is that the garments are easy and not dressy work with people. “Personally, my style is that I don’t put too much of effort in dressing up. I feel it’s a waste of time. So I wanted to figure out something that is easy. Something that you just wear and look good in. So that is where Vajor stands separately because we create clothing lines that are simple, yet interesting and comfortable,” she said, adding that the major difference is its reasonable price point.

For Nathasha, women’s empowerment just comes from within and she has not had people around her emphasising on it too much. Of course, there are women in the villages and the tier-2 and tier-3 cities who genuinely need the kind of empowerment that we talk about. “Being an urban Indian woman, we really need to empower the women there. We need to visit villages and talk to these women because we can understand them,” believes Nathasha about women leading India.
