A Mumbai resident has been arrested for allegedly sexually molesting his 17-year-old minor daughter during a counselling session with cops. The father approached the police seeking intervention, expressing apprehension about his daughter's excessive engagement with social media and her defiant conduct toward her parents. The father delineated that his daughter was persistently immersed in social media and her mobile device, showing complete disregard for her parents' authority by responding to them with hostility. Desiring professional guidance, he pleaded with the police to engage in counselling with his daughter. Consequently, the girl and her mother presented themselves at the police station.

Seeking resolution, the father reiterated his plea for police intervention and counselling. Swiftly responding to the call, a female police officer assumed responsibility for the counselling session. During this interaction, the officer shed light on the potential risks associated with excessive social media and internet usage, urging the young girl to articulate any concerns she might harbour.

Daughter Reveals Her Father molested her

During this session, the survivor bravely shared a horrible incident: she was abused and sexually assaulted by her own father over many days last year. The police quickly recorded an offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested the father. To ensure the girl's health, she was taken for a medical examination. Authorities noticed that the child was obviously distressed, and her statement was recorded by a female police officer, who followed the Supreme Court's direction to preserve sexual assault victims' privacy by keeping their identities hidden.

It's sadly becoming routine to see headlines detailing allegations of assault by daughters against their own fathers. This troubling reality begs the question: Where does a child turn for safety when her own home, meant to be a sanctuary, becomes a place of danger at the hands of her father? This situation confronts us with the harsh truth that the traditional refuge of a family home can, in some instances, become a source of harm. It's a sobering reminder of the importance of safeguarding children and providing them with avenues of support and protection, even within their own households.
