Sadhna Gupta, Wife Of Samajwadi Party Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav Passes Away

Her condition had been deemed worrying by the doctors.

Who was Sadhna Gupta
Sadhna Gupta, the wife of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away on Saturday at Gurugram's Medanta Hospital following a prolonged illness, said to be a lung infection. She just underwent hospitalisation after complaining of health issues. She was moved to the intensive care unit after her condition deteriorated.

Sadhna Gupta was the second wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder-patron of the Samajwadi Party. Twenty years his junior, Sadhna Gupta, was admitted in severe condition to Medanta hospital, according to sources. She passed away in the ICU after being transported there. She is survived by her son Prateek Yadav and Bharatiya Janata Party leader and daughter-in-law, Aparna Yadav.

Mulayam Singh Yadav Wife Sadhna Gupta 

For the past 15 days, Sadhna Gupta has been hospitalised at Medanta. Along with blood pressure issues, she also had sugar issues, which kept her condition serious. She was on a ventilator for several days. 

This morning, Mulayam Singh Yadav travelled to the hospital to attend to his wife. Her condition had been deemed worrying by the doctors. She later passed away today. Her remains are reportedly being flown from Delhi to Lucknow where the members of the family will also be present.

Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, sent his sympathies to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family via Twitter.

His tweet read, "Received the sad news of the demise of Sadhna Gupta, wife of former Chief Minister Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, may the Lord give place to the holy soul at his feet. Give courage to Mulayam Singh Ji and his family members to bear this loss."

Mulayam Singh Yadav is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three staggered terms and the Minister of Defence for the Government of India. 

He has been a member of parliament for a long time and presently represents the Lok Sabha district of Mainpuri. He has also previously represented the districts of Azamgarh and Sambhal. By party officials and members, he is frequently referred to as Netaji, which is Hindi for "respected leader."

His first wife, Malti Devi, had difficulty giving birth to their only child, Akhilesh Yadav, and was left in a vegetative state from 1973 until her passing in May 2003. From 2012 to 2017, Akhilesh served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
