Mona Sutphen Of Obama Administration To Join Spotify Board Of Directors

Sutphen worked as a senior White House official in the Obama administration before, during 2009-2011 she was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy under then US President Barack Obama. Later, from 2013 to 2016, she was on Obama's Intelligence Advisory Board. She is also a co-founder and advisor at many start-ups, as per reports. She works as a Seniors Advisor at a private-equity firm in Chicago named The Vistria Group.

Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek spoke about Sutphen and said, “Mona has built a career in both the private and public sectors advising leaders on international and U.S. domestic policy, technology, macroeconomics and trade, and human rights…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

He added, “Mona will bring a new and highly valuable perspective to the Board as we focus on driving our strategy forward during this time of exceptional change around the world.”

Mona Sutphen expressed her delight upon joining the board, “I’m very much looking forward to joining the Spotify Board of Directors.

“Spotify has been a revolutionary force and impressive innovator in the audio industry, transforming the content landscape globally. I’m excited to be a part of its continued evolution and expansion,” she added.

Her appointment is yet to be approved by the shareholders of Spotify.
