UP Kids Can Now Listen To Stories With A Missed Call
‘Missed Call Do, Kahaani Suno’ — a project for children in some states will soon to be launched in Uttar Pradesh as well, Times of India reported.
To ensure a great deal of development and increase interest among children for reading and listening, Pratham Books has introduced this out-of-the-box initiative which has been receiving much praise.
“As part of our CSR initiative, Radio Mirchi recorded the stories for us. Bollywood actors like Tushar Kapoor and Diya Mirza have lent their voice for the project,” said Himanshu Giri, Pratham Books’ chief executive. “Our aim is to encourage reading among children,” he added.
The initiative was recently kickstarted as a pilot project and guess what? It’s just a phone call away.
“The stories can be heard for free in two languages. All you have to do is to give a missed call on 8033094244. And within two minutes, you will get a call back with a story. Up to 40 stories can be listened to from one mobile number and a maximum of two stories per call,” said Giri.
The service will be continued till August 25 and the response analysed.
“After listening to the stories, they can also be saved by following a link and can even be read online at www.storyweaver.org.in,” the company CEO said.
“We have got good response during our earlier projects in other states. In April, we started with Rajasthan, in May went to Punjab, then June Himachal Pradesh. After that in July, we conducted the project in Haryana and now it’s time for Uttar Pradesh,” the company CEO said, adding that the collection they are offering to the children are more than 2,000 stories which can be dubbed or recorded.
