According to a release by the ANI, fugitive Mehul Choksi's wife Priti Choksi opened up about the extra-marital allegations in a series of tweets.
The Mehul Choksi row took a turn today when wife Priti Choksi addressed the allegations of the existence of an extra-marital relationship. According to ANI, Priti Choksi said, "Woman was known to my husband, she would visit my husband when she came to Antigua".
However, "people who have met her, the woman shown on media channels is not the same woman that they knew as Barbara," Choksi added, refusing the identification of the alleged girlfriend.
Woman was known to my husband, she would visit my husband when she came to Antigua. From what I have understood from people who have met her, the woman shown on media channels is not the same woman that they knew as Barbara: Mehul Choksi's wife, Priti Choksi to ANI

The wife of the fugitive added that what has brought anguish to the family is physical torture and total disregard concerning the human rights of Mehul Choksi.
It was also confirmed that Chinubhai Choksi revealed during the conversation that Mehul Choksi had reached Dominica on his own, and the fact of his abduction by Indian and Antiguan officials are 'fake news, rumoured intentionally.'
In June, Mehul Choksi filed a complaint against Barbara Jabarica, alleging that she didn't attempt to help him during his alleged abduction. According to Choksi, on May 23, he was kidnapped by eight to ten "heavily muscled" men who claimed to be working for Antiguan police. The abduction happened after Jabarica requested him to pick her up from her house for their evening walk.
"During this entire ordeal, Ms Jabarica did not even attempt to help me or assist in any way by calling for help from outside. In fact the manner in which she conducted herself by not helping me and her subsequent lack of initiative in contacting the police clearly shows that she was an integral part of this entire scheme to kidnap me," said Choksi.
